MindWhen we step in to our life purpose, doing work we love and living life according to what we are passionate about rather than simply “making a living” we not only enrich our own experience, but inevitably, we contribute to something larger than ourselves. I’ve had clients worry that what they love to do isn’t really of service or much benefit to others. Service, however, can happen in ways that we don’t necessarily expect and at times are not even aware of. Any journey of self-discovery and growth will affect more than the person on the path.

Let’s start from the understanding that everything is energy. We can now measure the electromagnetic fields around our bodies, even specific organs, such as the brain and the heart. We have the evidence that we don’t stop at our physical bodies, but our energy reaches out several feet beyond the physical. We are literally walking around in each others energy fields. Haven’t you ever been in a roomful of people and someone walks in who is angry? That person doesn’t even have to say or do anything. Everyone can feel it. The same is true for someone entering with a high energy, full of love and joy. Everyone else is lifted up. We know that every thought we think and every feeling we feel is energy vibration, projecting out into the universe.

The feelings and thoughts we have of negativity are dense energies.  As we shift into better feeling thoughts and live more from joy, purposefully engaged in activities we love and coming as much as possible from an open heart, the energy is lighter. As we feel better in our own lives, that energy is what surrounds us and is projected out to others.

Sometimes people think that focusing on what brings them joy is selfish. They may be living under the flawed premise that they are obligated to worry or that life is supposed to be a struggle. They may think that anything worth having or becoming requires struggle and hard work to get there. They share the stories about how hard life is and gather people around them that all support this idea. These are all dense energies which keep what we want away from us.  This will feel like resistance or a state of contraction and is scarcity thinking.  It is not at all how we are meant to live. As soon as a person wakes up to understanding that we create with every thought and that our highest purpose in life is to live joyfully, doing what we most love, not only is his or her life vastly improved, but that energy actually goes out and affects others.

Every thought we have creates events in the universe. One high, loving thought can cancel out 10,000 negative ones. When viewed from this perspective, we can clearly see that it is our responsibility, as people on the path of purpose, to be loving to ourselves and look for the positive aspects of situations and people.

In the book Personal Power Through Awareness, Sanaya Roman states:

“It is time to be aware of your own personal thoughts on an ongoing basis. Every time you hate something, every time you feel angry at yourself, every time you put yourself down or make yourself wrong you are contributing to the planetary choice of scarcity. Every time you allow yourself to have more time, allow yourself to feel good, or love something, you contribute to the planetary path of abundance.”

There is no higher purpose in life than to honor what delights us and to make feeling good the thing we most care about. As we are gentler with ourselves, cultivate more patience, an open heart and live from joy, we evolve the planet. Our thoughts go out into our communities and beyond, healing those who are looking for answers. Trust that as you find more joy in your life, find your true calling and enter into more loving thoughts, you are doing a great service to all humanity.
