“Energy is the currency of the universe. When you ‘pay’ attention to something, you buy that experience. So when you allow your consciousness to focus on someone or something that annoys you, you feed it your energy and it reciprocates the experience of being annoyed. Be selective in your focus because your attention feeds the energy of it and keeps it alive. Not just within you, but in the collective consciousness as well.” ~ Emily Maroutian

I love this quote from Emily Maroutian because it’s so clear on how the law of attraction works. Energy flows where attention goes.

Everything is energy and energy is vibration. When we feel good, we’re in a high vibration. When we feel bad, we’re in a low vibration and not a match to creating what we desire. The Universe always meets us right where we are.

Being a deliberate creator means focusing only on what you do want, rather than noticing the lack of what you want. Take stock of your thoughts and see if you’re putting most of your attention on what you want to create in your life or on noticing all the things that you don’t want. You may be surprised! Your feelings are your indicators of your vibration.

The steps to deliberately creating what you want:

1. The first step in creating what you want is to get crystal clear on what that is.

Fuzzy ideas get fuzzy results. Really paint a detailed, vivid picture in your mind. What does your desire look like, feel like, taste like, smell like, sound like? Use all of your senses even if some feel like a stretch. Write it down, draw a picture, put it to music—whatever feels delightful to you.

2.  Step 2 is to “skip to the end.”

What would having this vision feel like? How would you act? What impact would this have on your life?  In what ways can you experience the feelings of having what you want right now?

For example, if you want more abundance, in what ways are you already abundant? Get into the feeling of experiencing abundance. If you want work that you love, what do you have in your life right now that you love doing? Use your imagination to get into the feeling of already having what you want to create!

3. Step 3 is to “let go.”

Let go of any neediness. Feeling needy indicates you’re focused on the lack of what you want. (Step 4 will help with this)

Let go of how it will show up for you. Let go of when it will show up. Let go of any thoughts that you don’t deserve to have what you want.

This is a crucial step. Many people stop what they want from showing up by stewing over how, when and even if what they want will manifest. This puts you out of alignment with the vibration of your desire. Instead, be in a state of allowing what you want to show up in whatever way is the highest and best for you. When you do, you’ll often find what shows up is even better than you could have imagined!

4. Practice Gratitude

Feel grateful for what you already have in your life. Gratitude is a high vibration! By appreciating what we already have, we make room for more. And, this is a great way to let go of feeling needy about what is yet to manifest.

Make a list of the things in your life you’re grateful for. Revisit it every day. I like to say my gratitudes out loud and when I do I usually get on a roll! I keep adding to the list and always feel uplifted!

Remember that you’ve created everything in your life. So all the things you’re grateful for are your evidence that you are able to get into vibrational harmony with your desires and manifest them. If you think there isn’t anything, look deeper. Can you see? Hear? Do you have a roof over your head, food on the table? Friendships? A bed to sleep in? Indoor plumbing?

And take it deeper. For example, I’m grateful for my sight because it means I can read, see the trees and birds outside, see the faces of people I love, watch movies, appreciate beauty, etc.

Play with gratitude and see how good you feel!

5. Take Inspired Action!

One of the misconceptions about the law of attraction is that you don’t have to do anything. Action is always required, since we live in a material world. That said, the action that is required is often something that is a lot easier than if you hadn’t prepared the way by getting into alignment first.

Practice the four steps above and then notice if a certain action occurs to you. Sometimes the action won’t seem logical. That’s OK.

I know someone who was following these principles and scripting every day about abundance. One day she suddenly felt like taking a break and going to lunch. Everyone else in her office was working like mad making cold calls and eating at their desks.  It didn’t seem logical to stop working and go to lunch, but she did.  She ended up making a huge ( and very easy) sale to someone she met in the elevator as she was returning from a nice long, relaxed lunch!

To wrap up…

These steps work for your personal desires and for the larger issues of the day. You can create the environment you want, the type of government you want, and so on. It may seem impossible with everyone co-creating the larger picture, but it is possible for you to have what you want. How? Well, that’s a subject for another article!
