One of the things I really enjoy in my relationship with my husband is how we make each other laugh. It feels great to laugh and that cheery feeling lasts well beyond the actual laugh. Laughter is one of the best ways to get and keep a high vibration. And we know that when we’re in a high vibe we’re in a place to let in all the good stuff we want to manifest.

Even if you’re down pretty far on the emotional scale, letting in a chuckle will help to raise you up a bit. Then, keep going from there!

Interesting Science Facts

You probably have experienced the fact that laughter is contagious. Even if you don’t know what someone is laughing about, if they are enjoying a good belly laugh, you find yourself laughing too.

We actually have “mirror neurons” in our brains that cause us to act in sympathy with what we see and mirror it back. Our brains are actually wired to relate to others. In her book, “Happy For No Reason,” Marci Shimoff refers to this. Scientists have found that when we interact with others we form a “neural bridge” that connects us. The more we interact with someone, the greater the connection. So hang out with happy people who like to laugh and catch some good vibes! And be that person for others!

Benefits of Laughter

1. Laughter eases emotional and physical tension

When you indulge in a good belly laugh, your body releases endorphins that are “feel good” chemicals. These help relax you and promote an overall feeling of well-being.

When you laugh your heart rate increases and you take deep breaths. This sends oxygen rich blood through your body which improves your vascular system and circulation. Laughter also exercises our abdominal muscles, which benefits our digestive system. Best of all, laughter reduces pain, and increases melatonin production, which leads to better sleep.

2. Laughter helps release fear

When you are in fear you’re attracting the very thing you’re afraid of! Fear is a very strong emotion and we know that the law of attraction states: “Like attracts like.” So when you notice yourself dwelling on what you fear may happen, laughter is a great way to start moving up the emotional scale. It takes your mind off the thing you fear and distances you from it. Then, you can begin to view the event or circumstances you fear from an improved perspective. It will allow your mind to shift to possibilities that feel better.

3. Laughter supports your immune system

Way back in the 1300’s a professor of surgery named Henri de Mondeville noticed the benefits of laughter and included it in his post-operative therapy! Negative thoughts actually manifest into chemical reactions in the body that cause stress and reduce immunity. Laughter increases immune cells and infection-fighting antibodies, thus improving your resistance to disease. When you’re healthy, your whole outlook becomes more positive!

What Makes You Laugh?

One way to start the laughter going is to imagine yourself laughing. Think of a time when you laughed heartily at something. That primes the laughter pump and gets you in an improved mood.

One of my fondest memories of my mother is going into card shops and reading all the funny cards together. We would cause quite a ruckus as we leaned on each other and tears of laughter streamed down our faces! My mom loved to laugh!

Do you have a friend that you laugh easily with? A favorite funny movie or TV show? Maybe you like funny cat videos on YouTube. It’s not a waste of time! It’s you getting into alignment so you can feel good and manifest what you desire.

Give yourself permission to have fun, kick back and laugh. That’s how life is supposed to be. You can only manifest your good stuff from a high vibe! We’re not meant to come here and struggle and work hard and long. We’re meant to enjoy the process of creation. Let it be fun!
